As the second-largest city in Portugal, Porto serves as the gateway to the north. Renowned for its historic center, also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Porto enchants visitors with its winding cobblestone streets and colorful buildings. Recently, the airport Francisco Sá Carneiro was once again awarded for being the best European airport in its category and maintaining its "exemplary level of service quality", according to a statement sent to the press. This award was given by the ACI (Airport Council International), a global benchmark for evaluating the quality of airport services, with its awards based on surveys of millions of passengers.

Alongside the arrival of this award, also comes new routes directly from and to New York, Boston, Toronto, Belfast, Tânger, Ibiza and Pisa. As demand increases, other cities, such as Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Belgrade, Minorca, Frankfurt, Viena and Istanbul, are also reinforcing flights to Porto. In 2023, Turismo Porto e Norte measured 6,9 million of tourists. Forecasts for the year 2024 show Portugal should expect around 8 million guests and we sure hope you’re one of them!
